GIVING BACK
Giving back is part of who we are. Over many years, we have supported organizations whose work we care deeply about, with both our time and resources. As a family business that has built in communities across the Southeast for more than five decades, we believe our responsibility extends beyond the properties we develop, to the people and places around them. These are a few causes closest to our heart.
Cideco has awarded research grants to students who show leadership in their communities, and we look forward to supporting more. Inquiries are welcome.
University of Tennessee, College of Architecture + Design
Knoxville, Tennessee
Our ties to UT’s architecture program run deep. Haim Zukerman graduated in 1973 and founded Cideco Architecture and Planning in Knoxville, and Barak Zukerman earned his Master of Architecture there in 2002. The Zukerman Family Scholarship Endowment, created through gifts of land and support from our family, has awarded more than 139 scholarships to architecture students. In 2019, the college honored Haim Zukerman with its Accomplished Alumnus Award.
Ian’s Friends Foundation
Atlanta, Georgia
Ian’s Friends Foundation was founded in Atlanta in 2006 by Cheryl and Phil Yagoda after their son, Ian, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Today IFF funds innovative pediatric brain tumor research that traditional funding often overlooks, supporting scientists at more than 30 institutions worldwide, and it pays no overhead fees, so every gift goes to the research itself.
Chabad Lubavitch of Southwest Florida
Fort Myers, Florida
Chabad Lubavitch of Southwest Florida, home of the Maimonides Hebrew Day School, is a synagogue and Jewish community center on Winkler Road in Fort Myers. Haim and Barak Zukerman led the initial design and development of the property through construction. Designed above flood level, the synagogue stayed open after Hurricane Ian in 2022 and served as a hub for relief efforts. Today the center offers daily services, adult learning, and a hospitality house for visitors.
