The vision for a property is just as critical as the financials behind a new venture. With an architectural background, I aspire to design and construct retail and public spaces that provide more than just a place to shop or visit. My efforts prioritize the creation of a sense of location. To that end, I am a retail and self-storage developer with over two decades of experience in virtually every aspect of retail and real estate development. This comprises the coordination of all phases of the development process (acquisition, entitlements, design, engineering, budgeting, financing, and construction management, among others) for both new construction, redevelopment projects, and renovations of existing projects. From managing existing properties to developing new neighborhood grocery centers and redeveloping existing shopping centers throughout the southeast, I am currently involved in the ownership and management of over $100 million in real estate development and manage a portfolio of over 500,000 square feet of retail and self-storage space. I am aggressively pursuing new retail and self-storage projects and value-add redevelopment possibilities.

Acquisition

Cideco started acquiring existing retail developments 15 years ago.  We have been able to use our experience in development and management to purchase, redevelop, and maintain properties.  Our knowledge of physical and economic due diligence, environmental concerns, governmental issues has allowed us to shape creative solutions for each project. We continuously seek to expand our retail portfolio by acquiring both stabilized and value-add properties in Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee.

Our acquisitions team targets neighborhood, community, and power centers located in high-density trade areas. Ideal properties are anchored or have the ability to add an anchor and offer expansion, redevelopment, or lease-up opportunities.

Development Redevelopment

Cideco has been actively involved in retail development for 52 years.  Our efforts center on the coordination of all phases of the development process (acquisition, entitlements, design, engineering, budgeting, financing, and construction management, among others) for both new construction, redevelopment projects, and renovations of existing projects. Professional focal points include real estate development acquisitions, leasing management, tenant relations, site prospecting, property management, business operations, and strategic planning. Delivering superior administration on the latter areas of expertise requires the utilization of effective communication and prioritization skills, as well as business acumen, asset management, project management, and decision making to support efficiency and maximum returns.

History

The Cideco name has been associated with Development in the United States, the Middle East, and Africa.

Construction, Investment, and Design Company (Cideco) International was founded by Mathew Zukerman in Israel after WW2.  In 1959 he expanded his business opening offices in Nigeria and Kenya focusing on construction of residential and commercial and public projects.

Commercial Investment and Design (Cideco) Inc was formed in Knoxville, Tennessee in June of 1975.  Cideco Inc designed, build, and developed residential, hotel, office, and commercial projects in Tennessee and expanded with its retail clients. Construction Investment and Design

Commercial Investment and Development Co (Cideco) Inc is managed and owned by Benjamin Barak Zukerman who joined the business in 2002 after graduating from Georgia Tech and the University of Tennessee School of Architecture.

Asset / Property Management

Cideco maintains its own portfolio of real estate internally and has an outstanding track record of property management and asset management spanning over 25 years. Its day-to-day property management activities are centered around making its shopping centers well maintained and accessible to the customers and places where the merchants can thrive.

Cideco’s extensive background in architecture and city planning has guided us in developing and designing shopping centers and planned communities that brings together community, sustainability and open spaces.
